HomeCSOPIANGO Re-Emerges in Papua New Guinea for CSO/NGO Forum

PIANGO successfully participated in Papua New Guinea at the PNG National CSO Round Table in Port Moresby this month on the 16th & 17th of July. Speaking to CSO Leaders there, the Executive Director Emele Duituturaga encouraged the sector in PNG to actively take up their role again as actors of change at the regional and global level again. The participating organisations of the meeting were encouraged to return to basic fundamental principles and have a coordinated mechanism in place so that the people at the community level were tuned in with what was happening at the national, regional and global levels. These comments are timely to the much needed coordinated efforts towards the post-2015 MDGs and the upcoming UN SIDS Conference in Samoa. Ms Duituturaga was quoted in an article about the meeting in PNG’s National Newspaper. Link: http://www.thenational.com.pg/?q=node/72333
